We focus on the key skills children at this stage are working towards, including: +Strong letter–sound knowledge to read unfamiliar words +Accurate spelling using phonics and common word patterns +Early understanding of word parts (such as base words and endings) +Reading with improved fluency, confidence and stamina Children learn in small groups, with teaching matched to their current skill level. Lessons are explicit, structured and cumulative, helping children make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed. As with all SailAway Readers programs, sessions are evidence-based, supportive and engaging. This program is designed for children who are finding reading and spelling challenging and need targeted support. It is not an enrichment or extension program.
